You are NOT the GOD of Sales!

If you say this, you might be playing God:

• I’ve been in the business 107 years & I’ve seen it all.
• Listen here, Mr. Prospect I know what I’m talking about.
• I’ve explained it to you as best as I can, just TRUST ME.
• We've been friends for a long time. Help me out here.
• You’re in front of the prospect spending more time pontificating all your knowledge about the features, advantages & benefits of your “Best IN the World” Widget 4D5 Instant WealthMaker product.

 
When none of what you are saying is even remotely something the prospect is interested in.
 
Well why?  Because you’re all full of your own air & your “me, me, me” MINDSET has them totally UNINTERESTED.
 
(BTW, did you bother to use a breath mint before the appointment?! C’mon man!)
 
But? Shocker: even if they had an inkling of buying the item you are grandstanding about, they wouldn’t buy it from you.
 
Are you even aware that it’s not the 1970’s, or 1980’s? That type of approach may have worked then, but it’s been dwindling in popularity for decades.
 
Did you know that the proverbial INTROVERTED person with proper manners & human relation skills that knows how to ask interest bearing questions EARLY & OFTEN to the prospect is one of the most sought after individuals in the selling profession today?
 
No way, Marvin. How can an introverted individual do better than a boisterous, extroverted, SPRAY & PRAY SALES GUY?
 
It’s quite simple.

1. They ask smart, relevant questions. Early & often.
2. They create a safe space for the prospect to think & ponder.
3. They respond to the prospect with well-thought out BRIEF answers.
4. They answer the prospects’ questions & they don’t go on & on past what is relevant to the conversation.
