 What would you say if you had to ask yourself today if you'll be financially ready to retire? Do you have a plan? If you don't, now is the time to get one. Failing to plan = planning to fail. It's that simple. When I first took over my financial and insurance firm in 1988, I found a binder left behind by the previous owner. Inside was a presentation called "You'll Earn a Fortune," which included a study from the US Labor Statistics of 100 people whose financial lives were documented for 40 years, from age 25 to 65... The results of the study showed that at the age of retirement (65 years of age), 54 were broke and depending on relatives, 36 had died, 5 were still working to make ends meet, 4 had livable incomes, and only 1 was financially independent. Only ONE out of a hundred! Think about that for a second. How is it that in the wealthiest country in the world, 99 out of 100 people are either dead or dead broke by the time they reach the age of 65? How does this happen? I'll tell you. They didn't plan to be unsuccessful; they were unsuccessful in their planning. The problem isn't that people don't have the ability to achieve what they want, but rather it's the inability to plan that financially kills them. Does any of this sound familiar?
