HELP! I need to create more MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS!

Have you found yourself wishing for this kind of help before? The good news is, it’s not hopeless. Here’s how you can make some meaningful progress on your own...

​1. Be Present:
Give your full attention to the person you’re with. Put aside distractions and actively engage in the moment. Being present fosters a deeper connection.  Hint: close your mouth and look at them hard - in the eyes.

2. Practice Active Listening:
Truly listen to what the other person is saying. Show empathy and understanding. In 2006 I attended an Agent’s Development Program in Columbia, MO and the best quote I have ever heard on listening was:

“LISTENING is NOT waiting to talk!”

3. Express Gratitude:
Regularly express appreciation for the people in your life. Say, “I’m so grateful for you!” - & mean it. 

4. Be Authentic:
Be yourself. Authenticity builds trust and allows for genuine connections. Pretending to be someone you’re not can hinder meaningful relationships.  A word of caution. Yes, be yourself but be your BEST self. Never say, “Well, they are just going to accept me how I am”, because, they don’t have to. Keep working on your self development and stay humble.

Remember, meaningful relationships are about mutual respect, trust, and support. Whether it’s a close friend, family member, or romantic partner, these connections contribute to our overall happiness and well-being.
